Personal Breakouts 2011
Inspired by the Breakout project of Citilab, and now that I have plenty of time to explore new ways to live, I plan to carry out a short research about the possibility to work on public places, such as libraries or coffee shops.
The concept
Nowadays, the technology has brought us the possibility to work wherever we want. Thanks to that, we can promote the use of public spaces as places to work, cooperate and create value for the society. Moreover, it is the perfect room to increase the networking and entrepreneurial activity.
My little short-term concept
I just want to try the out-of-home work, as a new way to create. It is a personal project, not a discovery. I just want to test and study the possibilities, requirements and applicability of this way to work.
My starting requirements
- An undercover public space, smoke-free.
- Lightness.
- Silent, not dead.
- Semi-privacy to work.
My personal breakout kit to start
- A netbook with Internet connection (and a 3G USB modem in case that the public space does not have free wifi), a mouse -just for commodity- and headphones.
- A notebook and other stationery.
- A book.
As a first approach, I think a library is the perfect place to, at least, get out of home and continue working on it. I am open to any of your suggestions; at this moment, my student times have come back.
First Breakout at: Biblioteca Tecla Sala.
